The FAR Hudson River Watershed Mapping site is an on-line information and mapping portal designed to serve the region's aquatic research, fisheries management and sports fishing communities. This portal has been developed to include

• An Internet Map Service (IMS), to browse and compose maps of the region
• Links to regional fisheries resource sites, to check details and status of local conservation, management and research and fish stocking programs
• Sources of geospatial data and mapping tools to support geospatial assessments of a local region or topic of interest
• Information on programs supporting data management and interoperability standards, via connections through other NBII nodes and IMS’s

With the Hudson River Watershed IMS, baseline geospatial data layers and sample imagery will allow you to explore, construct and print maps depicting the context and spatial relationships amongs the region's aquatic features. From the Links pages, you can access an On-line Directory of Fishes of the Region (Cornell University), the NY DEC’s State Fish Stocking program, Fisheries Advisories and Fresh and Salt Water Fishing Tips, amongst other resources. Those interested in acquiring digital geospatial data to perform their own assessments will find a range of options for searching and downloading those data from multiple State and Federal sources. Links to other NBII on-line resources and mapping tools are also present.
